Share Your Story

Baclofen and its potentially fanatstic role in treating alcoholism is not just a story about a drug. It is much more a story about the people taking it. It is clear from all the blog sites dedicated to it, and the stories I receive that many Baclofen takers receive considerable comfort and support from sharing their stories with others.
This is also extremely valuable information for those just thinking about taking Baclofen; particularly if they intend to self-prescribe.
These stories can often be amazingly inspiring to others, and I want to include as many as possible on the Baclofen 4 Alcoholism site.
Please send me your own stories, and I shall include them in the Your Stories page of the site.
You don't have to write a long essay (unless you want to, of course!), but include as many things as you can, such as:
- your first name, or a nickname you would like me to use;
- your age and sex;
- your city or country;
- occupations / hobbies etc
- a brief history of your own drink problem;
- relationships
- hospitalisations, other treatments etc;
- criminal implications if any;
- your Baclofen history - how long, dosage titrations, complications;
- AND most importantly, why your story is special to you - what has gone really well, what has gone badly wrong; what has improved; what has got worse; back in work; back in a relationship; health improvement. Anything and everything that makes your story stand out to you, and might motivate and inspire others.
When you have put that together, please send it to me e-mail here. My name is Phillip, and I'm a 48 year old doctor. I have always drunk too much, but it got outof hand four years ago. I live in the UK, and now work as a writer. My drinking has probably costme a couple of relationships that could have been saved if I hadn't drank. I have never been hospitalised or had any significant criminal problems, but it has most definitely messed up my careers. Baclofen has changed my life. I got to 150mg a day, and then when I was well controlled I started to drop it back. I'm now on 100mg a day taken in two doses. I don't take a dose at nightbecause I had bad dreams and a few episodes of paralysis. My work pattern is now normal, and I'm useful again. That last bit is a lie, unfortunately!!!
I hope that that gives you a good idea.
Thank you so much. |
